Helmut W. Morsi
Biography
Mr Dr. Morsi holds a doctorate in natural sciences and has broad experience in research and technology. He has experience in the public and private sector and has worked about a decade in research labs of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (Bonn and Munich) and EURATOM (JET Joint Undertaking, UK) on space sciences (radio-astronomy), energy (thermo-nuclear fusion) and diagnostics engineering in general.
With the European Commission at Brussels headquarters he started in DG RTD in Nov1993. In 2002 starting to work at DG MOVE on logistics, managing the Marco Polo I programme and creating Marco Polo II. Since 2006 in various management positions at TEN-T. Creating and extending the TENTEA/INEA agency in 2006/7 at acting as liaison officer for 4 years. Creating and managing the TENtec Information System since 2006 and outsourcing it to INEA and the MOVE-ENER IT department in 2014. Management of the creation of all TEN-T maps.
Since 2008 developing the TEN-T / CEF innovation and new technologies priority, with its focus on market-sided innovation for transport infrastructure. Recently the new financial instruments of CEF and EFSI for innovation as well as the innovation synergy portfolio have been added.
Since April 2015 appointed as Conseiller to the Director of “European Mobility Network”, including coordination of Innovation, New Technologies and IT (incl. TENtec).
