Biography

Sara Paiva acts as General Co-Chair of the EAI International Convention on Smart Cities 360º since the 2020 edition. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, holds a PhD in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Vigo, and a Post-doc from Oviedo University, under advanced driving assistants.  Her main line of research is smart and inclusive mobility in smart cities through applied mobile computing and outdoor route optimization. She is IEEE Senior Member, Vice-Chair of the IEEE Smart Cities Marketing Committee, Editor in Chief of the EAI Endorsed Transaction on Smart Cities, Associate Editor of MONET and WINET, among other journals, and Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Sustainable Cities and Society. She is also editor of books with Springer, CRC Press, Cambridge Scholar, and has edited several special issues. She has authored and co-authored more than 70 scientific publications in journals and conferences and is a frequent reviewer of international journals and international conferences.
