Margit Noll

Margit Noll is Chair of the Management Board of the Joint Programming Initiative Urban Europe, an intergovernmental research and innovation programme on sustainable urban development. She is responsible for the strategic development and operational implementation of this programme, including the implementation of joint calls, policy coordination, international cooperation or stakeholder involvement. Furthermore, she is coordinating the preparation of the European partnership Driving Urban Transitions.

Presentation: Digitalization in Urban Transformation

The European priority on achieving climate neutrality and sustainability puts high demands on urban transformations and requires holistic approaches to redesign the urban systems and infrastructures. The European partnership Driving Urban Transitions supports this ambition by focusing on the transition pathways of 15 Minute Cities, Positive Energy Districts and Regenerative Green Neighborhoods. For all these pathways digitalization plays an essential role as enabler of new solutions. The presentation will touch upon various aspects of this role of digitalization and the related potentials and challenges from the point of view of the DUT pathways.
