Keynote title: The Role of IoT in the Latam Health Market: Opportunities and Challenges
The Internet of Things is among the promising technologies of our time. And its advances are bringing in-deep changes for all economic sectors, especially to healthcare. Governments and private companies face difficulties in maintaining financial balance in health services. Factors such as population aging and medical inflation raise costs and stimulate debates around the world on how to maintain systems’ budget viability.
Society will only be able to provide such quality services and overcome these challenges by relying on the solutions that technology brings. IoT, as emerging technology, has the potential to cause great revolutions not only for patients, but mainly for managers and for the society that funds the system.
Considering these challenges affect all the countries, it is very important to understand how the different parts of the globe are embracing the opportunities and immersing themselves in the seek of suitable solutions for their needs and realities. Therefore, the aim is to elaborate a panel about IoT and Healthcare in Latin America, catalog the most prominent research centers and starts to fill an important blank of bibliographic reference, as there are no publications agrupping information about this subject in Latin America.
