Ivan Debnar

Ivan Debnar was at the birth of Internet era in Slovakia some 16 years ago. He founded the first Internet Cafe in Slovakia in 1996, became known as one of founders and the first CEO of Zoznam.sk  – a long-time leading Internet portal for Slovak users. Ivan has since helped various companies to improve their development strategies, technical competencies and their design for scale. As the Chief Technology Officer since 2008, Ivan has helped   Azet.sk   become a leading Slovak portal, news and community site.

He is actively involved in establishing the tech-startup ecosystem in Slovakia. In 2012 he founded The Spot – the most active start-up creative space in Slovakia, providing young entrepreneurs access to knowledge, mentors, profesional services and advice to help them discover new ideas and create viable international busineses out of them. He is mentor and judge in various IT startup competitions and challenges. Recently The Spot launched startup acceleration programme The Spot Booster.
